Finally, i am back from the two-weeks long business trip in S'pore. this is my 2nd business trip in UMC.
Okay, let's talk about something interesting in S'pore while i was there.
before went to S'pore, the image there was a developed country, and the government was extremly strict. of course it is. but something is out of my image. like the quality of the service industry in S'pore is not as good as i thought.
There are 70% Chinese-S'porean people in S'pore, the goverment language is not Madarian but English. even though, most of Chinese-S'porean can speak in Madarian.
As we arrived at S'pore, my colleagues told me that we had to either speak in english or tell the local people we are from Taiwan, or they would treat us as the people from China, whom S'porean discriminate to.
i had realized the experience on first day when i was in a shopping mall asking a store clerk a shoes size for fit, the clerk was so rude because i spoke in Maderian to him. i didn't know why the situation could happend here. anyway it happends in everywhere including America too, like some people discriminate to other races people.
okay let's forget the service industry quality and the race issues. here is something worth to learn from. on the last day, when we were going to the airpore to take airplane back to sweet home, i left my wallet in a benz taxi. i was so very nervous because i knew i could not change my airplant schedule to find it back. i didnot hold any wish to get it back, but something miraculous happended, the missing and found system impressed me. how a llucky day i got, luckly, i didn't forget to ask a receive from the taxi, the receive showed the information about the taxi company and car plat number. An old man who works for the airport leaded me to the information desk. i could not believe that i got my lovely wallet back just after 30 mins. if it happended in Taipei, i would not suppose it would be found. I was totally impressed by the missing & found system.
here is another important thing i have to share with you. The sea food there was soooooooo very cheap. we ate so many crabs while we were there. i strongly recommends that when you guys are there, you have to have giant crabs with beers every dinner.
